He may be more readily recognized for composing the dizzying arpeggios to such hard rock staples as “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Edison’s Medicine” as the guitarist for 1980s collective Tesla, however Frank Hannon is now trying his hand as both a solo artist and at new musical territory with his upcoming studio album, ‘World Peace.’

Tesla Guitarist Frank Hannon to Release New Solo Album, ‘World Peace’

‘World Peace’ is due for release before the end of the year, and is largely centered around ideas which Hannon penciled down during stays in hotel rooms and on the tour bus in support of Tesla’s latest offering, and were later finalized with the input of Frank Hannon Band members Aaron Leigh (bass) and Kelly Smith (drums).

Tesla Offer Straight Simplistic Hard Rock at the California Canyon Club: Concert Review + Photo Gallery

On a muggy mid-summer day in California, the Canyon Club was packed full of rock fans who were preparing to witness Sacramento natives Tesla deliver more than a hour and a half of energetic hard rock as part of their current headlining tour. While the set list wasn’t vacant of any of the band’s arsenal of greatest hits, the focus was particularly placed towards Tesla’s new studio album, ‘Simplicity,’ beginning with the opening number, “MP3.”

One of the most shockingly nostalgic selections off of Tesla’s newly released studio album, ‘Simplicity,’ is the melody-bracketed “So Divine…” which boasts a proud compilation of familiar vocal harmonies, engaging guitar work and a warmly executed breakdown towards the song’s solid conclusion. Particularly because of it’s traditionally energetic feel, the members of Tesla now bring “So Divine” to life on the song’s accompanying music video.

Modern day cowboys Tesla are planning to forge a surging comeback with the release of their eighth studio album, ‘Simplicity.’ The upcoming effort is due for release on June 6 via Frontiers Records, and will be comprised of fifteen new recordings which Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon describes as a formidable return to the band’s signature sound.

Tesla Premier New Song “Ricochet” Live During Monsters of Rock Performance

Lead guitarist Frank Hannon previously described the track as a bonafide “rock n roll song” which pays tribute to Ted Nugent, which has proven to be a fitting description as the lyrics include multiple references to favorites such as “Free For All,” while Tesla vocalist Jeff Keith can be seen mimicking the stage performance of the famed rocker.

Tesla Reveals New Studio Album Title, Release Date

Earlier last month Tesla revealed that they were returning to the studio to record eight or nine new songs to be included on the upcoming effort, while later confirming the working titles of eleven tracks. Now lead guitarist Frank Hannon has offered an update on the band’s ongoing recording sessions.
