Something that was apparently supposed to be kept on the down low, Joe Lynn Turner recently revealed that there has been talks for Rainbow to reunite at some point in the near future. During a recent conversation with Greece-based online publication Rock Overdose, Turner described the idea of a Rainbow reunion as being “very possible,” before quickly adding that he’s “not supposed to talk about it.”

From peers to prodigies, a staggering cast of artists are compiled to pay tribute to one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s. ‘Light My Fire – A Classic Rock Salute to The Doors’ is due for release via Purple Pyramid Records on June 24, and features members from such similarly renowned groups as Asia, Rainbow and Uriah Heep offering their own renditions of well known and defining rock anthems.

Most well known to his contributions to such artists as Deep Purple, Rainbow and Ozzy Osbourne, keyboardist Don Airey is now stepping back out into the main spotlight as a solo artist. His new effort, entitled ‘Keyed Up,’ shows the renowned musician moving into a diverse compilation of musical territory, which includes multiple transitions into jazz, rock and blues.

A nostalgic listening experience for sure, ‘Black Masquerade’ is a standout live album from an overlooked era of one of classic rock’s most beloved groups. For any fan of Rainbow’s earlier outings, as well as Ritchie Blackmore’s previous projects, this is an album that comes warmly recommended.

‘Live In Munich 1977′ is a standout live album that shows the band doing some expanded takes on such songs as “Mistreated” and “Catch The Rainbow”, with some live renditions running nearly 20 minutes long; which, if you’re already familiar with the band and their music, is no problem at all, in fact it only adds to the listening experience.
