‘Spirit on a Mission’ is currently due for release on March 23 in the United Kingdom and on March 24 in the United States via Allegro, and will be the fourth full-length effort to feature the supporting ‘Temple of Rock’ lineup, which is currently comprised of former Rainbow singer Doogie White, keyboardist and guitarist Wayne Findlay, and Schenker’s former Scorpions bandmates Herman Rarebell on drums and Francis Buchholz on bass.

Having apparently overcome the impactful studio theft from earlier this month, Michael Schenker is preparing to return to the United Kingdom to tour in support of his most recent studio album, ‘Bridge the Gap.’ Joining the guitar virtuoso is the Temple of Rock performing lineup of lead vocalist Doogie White (Rainbow, Tank) and former Scorpions bandmates Herman Rarebell and Francis Buchholz.

Michael Schenker Loses Equipment, New Recordings During Studio Theft

Work on Michael Schenker’s anticipated follow-up to last year’s ‘Bridge the Gap’ has been reduced to a standstill after thieves broke into his recording studio, making off with instruments, equipment and computers which contained several sessions worth of new material. A number of Michael Voss’ own guitars are also reported to have been stolen, and while a full assessment of the damage is currently being compiled, one of Schenker’s custom Dean Chrome V has been taken – a guitar which only three of were made.

Following his departure from Scorpions during their 1979 tour in support of the ‘Lovedrive’ studio album, Michael Schenker was advised by his manager Peter Mensch to audition as the new lead guitarist for Aerosmith, following original member Joe Perry’s recent exiting from the band following the release of ‘Night in the Ruts.’ It’s clear that Schenker would go on to try out for the role, however both parties have different accounts of the event.
