The allure of being able to move into essentially any musical style with the door for potential collaborations always open has been one of the main points which has kept Robert Plant from taking part in the full-scale Led Zeppelin reunion which guitarist Jimmy Page has been passionate to enact.

Founding member Robert Plant has recently expressed intense frustration towards the notion of performing as part of Led Zeppelin in the future, despite previous comments which indicated the singer was open towards some form of activity with the project in 2014. Following some encouragement from guitarist Jimmy Page to reunite the band, Plant remarked that the guitarist needed “a good rest,” and even welcomed Led Zeppelin continuing with a different singer.
Guitarist Jimmy Page recently reentered the Led Zeppelin archives and emerged with “dozens of unheard studio and live recordings,” which will appear on the upcoming album reissues of the band’s nine albums. One of these previously unreleased tracks has surfaced and is now available for streaming.
Led Zeppelin has never been a band that’s devoid of controversy. From Zeppelin’s earliest days, they’ve been tagged by some as musical thieves, “borrowing” lyrics and melodies to fit their own agenda. There have been some songs that the band outright admits to being more than shade “influenced” by, such as “You Shook Me” from the 1969 debut.
