During their initial collaborations, Gramm and Jones penned a compilation of songs now synonymous with the genre, such as “Blue Morning, Blue Day,” “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Head Games” and “Urgent.”

From peers to prodigies, a staggering cast of artists are compiled to pay tribute to one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s. ‘Light My Fire – A Classic Rock Salute to The Doors’ is due for release via Purple Pyramid Records on June 24, and features members from such similarly renowned groups as Asia, Rainbow and Uriah Heep offering their own renditions of well known and defining rock anthems.

Styx and Foreigner to Release ‘The Soundtrack of Summer’

In coordination with their upcoming joint headlining tour, Styx and Foreigner have announced the release of a new compilation album, entitled ‘The Soundtrack of Summer.’ The album will be largely comprised of the two group’s greatest hits, and will arrive on May 6.

The three classic rock groups will hit the road beginning May 16th on what will be a spanning tour of the United States this summer. Don Felder, who penned a number of Eagles classics including “Hotel California,” will serve as the opening act during this tour, with Foreigner and Styx alternating as the closing band each night.

Foreigner Announce New Ballads Compilation Album

The new release will be titled ‘I Want to Know What Love Is – The Ballads,’ and is currently slated to come out just in time for Valentine’s Day 2014. ‘The Ballads’ will be solely comprised of a selection of fourteen chart climbing ballads from throughout Foreigner’s career. This marks the first time in Foreigner’s career that these fourteen songs appeared on the same release.
