Comprised of an impressive cast of members from several acclaimed hard rock artists, WAMI are one of the latest supergroups to emerge onto the music scene. WAMI proudly features former Rainbow and current Michael Schenker lead vocalist Doogie White, drummer Vinny Appice of Black Sabbath fame, bassist Marco Mendoza from Thin Lizzy, and up-and-coming guitarist Iggy Gwadera.

One of the more recent metal supergroups, WAMI, featuring members of Rainbow, Thin Lizzy and Black Sabbath fame, have premiered the lead single from their forthcoming debut studio effort. “Wild Woman (You Oughta Know)” is built around the engaging percussion style of Vinny Appice, the powerhouse vocals of Doogie White, Marco Mendoza’s dominating bass lines and Iggy Gwadera’s solid rhythm guitar work.

The band’s debut album will be comprised of eleven new songs, which Vinny Appice previously described as “quite heavy. but not as dark as, for example, Black Sabbath or Kill Devil Hill. It’s melodic music, and very well performed. I would label it high-quality heavy rock.”

This past Wednesday, the influential axe slinger Michael Schenker manned his way to the Hollywood House of Blues, with his trademark Dean Flying V in hand. Surrounded by a formidable cast of musicians, featuring longtime collaborator Doogie White of Rainbow fame, the Michael Schenker band arrived to a packed crowd in support of the newly released ‘Bridge the Gap’ studio album.

What Michael Schenker is attempting to do with his new album is to merge the energetic playing style of his earlier years with the more modern, heavier approach to the guitar, which has made its way onto Schenker’s recent efforts. And it’s safe to say that he not only accomplishes this feat, but also creates some standout music in the process.
It was just announced that Michael Schenker will be touring Japan in early 2014 in support of his upcoming studio album, ‘Bridge the Gap’. Seven dates have currently been confirmed, and will have the Michael Schenker group making several stops in Nagoya, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukoka and Kagoshima.
“Where the Wild Winds Blow” is the first full length song to be officially released from guitar virtuoso Michael Schenker’s forthcoming studio album, ‘Bridge the Gap’. The song boasts the always captivating guitar wizardry that fans have come to expect from Schenker, as well as an emotion soaked lead vocal performance from Doogie White.
