Playing upon the often unintentionally comical elements that surfaced during the 1980s glam metal scene, Steel Panther have built a warm reputation among the hard rock community for their ability to formulate songs wrapped around hefty musicianship and graphically adult lyrical content. The former especially stands out and has most notably earned Steel Panther a supporting spot on Judas Priest‘s 2014 tour of the United States.

Offering a different side to the members of Steel Panther, ‘Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage’ will serve as the band’s first acoustic live album and full-length concert film. The effort will be released on February 26 by Steel Panther’s label Open E Records via Kobalt Label Services, however is currently available for pre-order on the band’s official website.

The band find themselves performing in front of a seemingly staged audience of “scantily clad women (and one old creepy fat guy who somehow got a ticket)” inside the “uncharacteristically large and professional lit garage” of 80s rock veteran Bobbie Brown, who served as the forewoman on Warrant‘s ‘Cherry Pie’ music video and now plays the mother of Panther bassist Lexxi Foxx.

“It was so much fun playing our songs on these new wooden guitars in my mom’s garage!” said Lexxi Fox. “Satchel (guitars) says that he might be my new dad, but I’m not really sure what that means!” he added. We shouldn’t have to note that everything surrounding Steel Panther should be taken with a few grains of salt, however the band is certainly unique and the music speaks for itself.

‘Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage’ shows the members of Steel Panther performing alongside several female violinists on the band’s most successful singles including “Party Like Tomorrow Is The End of The World” and “The Burden of Being Wonderful,” as well as the new song “That’s When You Came In” which makes it’s debut on this release.

Steel Panther recently wrapped its “Well Hungover” North American headlining tour and started a new residency at the famed Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on January 7 and House of Blues Las Vegas. Last year, the band sold out headlining tours in the U.K. and South America.
