Stryper Planning to Head Back Into the Recording Studio This February

Despite his full schedule, it appears as though Michael Sweet has found some time to work alongside his Stryper band members to begin work on their anticipated follow-up to 2013’s ‘No More Hell to Pay.’ In a recent update on social media, the lead vocalist and guitarist revealed that the heavy metal group is currently “in writing mode,” and is planning on returning to the studio early next year.

Stryper Frontman Michael Sweet Disapproves of U2’s Choice in Album Marketing

U2 introduced an interesting method when it came down to the recent release of their first full-length studio album in five years, ‘Songs of Innocence.’ The sheer existence wasn’t even confirmed until an Apple Inc. event, which was initially meant to be used to announce the latest iPhone model. U2’s new record was introduced to more than 500 million iTunes users to download for no cost, which in turn opened the rock group to extensive television advertising with the service.

The Yellow and Black Attack have done an admirable job at supplying their fans with new material over the course of these past two years: two full-length studio albums, a more varietal release from frontman Michael Sweet as well as an accompanying autobiography, and now Stryper are back with the release of their new live effort, ‘Live at the Whiskey.’

Stryper Announce New Concert Album/DVD, ‘Live at the Whiskey’

Recorded during last November’s performance at the iconic Whiskey-a-Go-Go venue in Hollywood, California, heavy metal forerunners Stryper will unearth their new live effort this fall. The appropriately titled ‘Live at the Whiskey’ is due for release on September 23 via Frontiers Records, and captures the members of Stryper performing a compilation of formidable established anthems and selections from their previous studio album, ‘No More Hell to Pay.’
