Longtime listeners may scoff at the fact that ’10’ is equally comprised of both new studio material and previously unreleased live recordings from the band’s final shows with Kevin DuBrow. Granted there is a noticeable diminishing of original tracks as opposed to the band’s original catalog, the emphasis is instead focused towards roughly 23 minutes of impressionable quality which remains in a stylistic barrier widely considered as classic Quiet Riot territory.

Quiet Riot Reveal Release Date For New Studio Album, ’10’

A new outbreak of Mental Health is about to be unleashed amongst Quiet Riot fans; the band has announced they will release their twelfth studio album later this week. ’10’ will appropriately feature ten previously unreleased recordings, comprised of six new songs featuring newly appointed lead vocalist Jizzy Pearl and four tracks from the last professionally recorded shows with original frontman Kevin DuBrow.

Before entering the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, I had previously seen that “other” lineup of Queensryche during an outdoor music festival which included Jack Russell’s Great White. It was only fair that I would take the time to attend the show when Geoff Tate and his supergroup came into town to perform ‘Operation: Mindcrime’ in its entirety.

2013 was a strong year for rock and metal, and 2014 is already gearing up to be an even more memorable one. New albums from heavyweights Judas Priest, Quiet Riot and Van Halen are currently in the works. Heavy metal supergroup KXM, featuring members of Dokken, Korn and King’s X will be releasing their debut effort this year. And members of Aerosmith, Kiss and Stryper fame are scheduled to issue new solo albums.

Rock and roll fans from across the Sunshine State made their way down to Melbourne, Florida, for a new music festival boasting an impressive list of groups and nostalgia to spare. 80s in the Park was ready to leave Wickham Park in a coat of hairspray. The entire weekend was run by the official Master of Ceremonies, comedian and watermelon activist Gallagher, who welcomed the majority of the dozen-plus groups onstage.
