Swiss hard rock group Krokus have lately been enjoying a noticeable commercial resurgence; their 2013 studio album ‘Dirty Dynamite’ was soon commemorated as the band’s highest charting release since 1988′s ‘Heart Attack,’ and was hailed by dedicated listeners as an accomplished return to the iconic AC/DC-inspired sound which vividly decorated their earlier efforts.
Krokus previously announced they would be releasing their new live album ‘Long Stick Goes Boom – Live From Da House of Rust’ this month. The effort was officially issued in Switzerland yesterday (March 21st), and while it won’t see the light of day in the United States and Canada until April 22nd fans can now listen to three songs off of the new Krokus live album.
The renowned rock group, who are well known for such memorable hits as “Screaming in the Night” and “Midnite Maniac,” will release their new live album later this March. ‘Long Stick Goes Boom – Live From Da House of Rust’ will be made available first in Switzerland on March 21st. The album will be made available to the rest of Europe on March 24th, and will be released in North America on April 22nd.
This year has had some miraculous comebacks and regularly standout albums from an impressive list of renowned rock and metal artists. Some of these groups went the extra mile, and instead of just issuing a simple lyric video for their lead single (or in some cases, nothing at all!), bands brought humor, nostalgic appeal and pride to create some enjoyable music videos.
These past twelve months have been made even more memorable thanks to the impressive collection of exceptional music. We have seen music surface from everyone ranging from Paul McCartney and Fleetwood Mac to Boston and Deep Purple, with more than a handful of enjoyable albums in between. So without further ado, here is our list of The Best Rock Songs of 2013.
2013 has proven to be a triumphant year for rock and roll. This year hasn’t been shy of its miraculous comebacks, with such names as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Boston each making their own long awaited returns. Cinderella’s Tom Keifer made his long awaited solo debut, and we had two different Queensryche lineups each issue their own album.
Hard rock group Krokus have just released the official music video to accompany their new single. When it comes to “Dog Song”, it’s not simply just the guitar work that makes this song an instant classic rock anthem; it’s a combination of the falsetto soaked lead vocals, deep group melodies, thundering percussion work and pulsating bass playing that all work together perfectly.
We’re not even halfway through 2013, and already we have had some absolutely standout albums from some of hard rock and metal’s most renowned artists.
We’re just a third of the way through 2013, and already we have had some fantastic albums. With new releases from such iconic rock bands as Krokus and Drivin’ n Cryin’, as well as one surprising return-to-form album that nobody saw coming, it’s been a great year for rock and roll so far.
I am proud to say that when it comes to ‘Dirty Dynamite’ that these dynamics aren’t just still fully embraced, and not only have progressed since 1983, but Krokus as a band seems to have fully evolved into something greater altogether, and the result is an album of 12 rampaging rock songs that sounds just as good if not better than anything they released back in the day. Everything from the album cover to the title scream classic rock even more so than Chris von Rohr’s lung busting lead vocals.
