Former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee reemerged following a brief hibernation from the music scene, and upon doing so began actively recruiting a cast of previously unknown talent to join him in creating his new project, Red Dragon Cartel. Shortly following their incarnation, the group entered the studio alongside producer Kevin Churko, who similarly has worked with such names as Ozzy Osbourne and Five Finger Death Punch.

Red Dragon Cartel’s self-titled debut studio album does an exemplary job at marking the return of the guitar virtuoso Jake E. Lee, while introducing a new cast of musical talent which more than pull their own weight. While it isn’t an album without its flaws, there are plenty of quality moments throughout this debut to appeal to fans of Jake E. Lee’s earlier efforts, as well as a whole new cast of heavy metal followers.
