Having apparently overcome the impactful studio theft from earlier this month, Michael Schenker is preparing to return to the United Kingdom to tour in support of his most recent studio album, ‘Bridge the Gap.’ Joining the guitar virtuoso is the Temple of Rock performing lineup of lead vocalist Doogie White (Rainbow, Tank) and former Scorpions bandmates Herman Rarebell and Francis Buchholz.

One of the more recent metal supergroups, WAMI, featuring members of Rainbow, Thin Lizzy and Black Sabbath fame, have premiered the lead single from their forthcoming debut studio effort. “Wild Woman (You Oughta Know)” is built around the engaging percussion style of Vinny Appice, the powerhouse vocals of Doogie White, Marco Mendoza’s dominating bass lines and Iggy Gwadera’s solid rhythm guitar work.

Heavy metal supergroup WAMI, featuring members of Rainbow, Thin Lizzy and Black Sabbath fame, have announced they will release their debut studio album ‘Kill the King’ this May. The band’s debut album will be comprised of eleven new songs, which Vinny Appice previously described as “quite heavy. but not as dark as, for example, Black Sabbath or Kill Devil Hill. It’s melodic music, and very well performed. I would label it high-quality heavy rock.”

What Michael Schenker is attempting to do with his new album is to merge the energetic playing style of his earlier years with the more modern, heavier approach to the guitar, which has made its way onto Schenker’s recent efforts. And it’s safe to say that he not only accomplishes this feat, but also creates some standout music in the process.
