While some critics have argued that illegal music downloads has in some cases provided more exposure for the artist and increased concert ticket sales, the negative impact which the practice has placed on the music industry is unignorable. Cinderella lead vocalist and guitarist Tom Keifer recently offered his own thoughts on the situation, while noting that piracy not only damages his practice but also those who forge a career in other mediums.

Cinderella’s Jeff LaBar Breaks Away With “No Strings” Music Video

What Jeff LaBar showcases on his new music video for “No Strings” remains in comfortable territory, with the outcome sounding like a chaotic compilation of Cinderella’s “Somebody Save Me” and Dokken’s “It’s Not Love,” complete with a familiar set of string bends during the introduction which pays homage to the former. The guitarist himself recognizes that the song could easily fit on a new Cinderella record, just throw Keifer’s scratchy falsetto into the mix and you have a runaway rock anthem.

Cinderella’s Jeff LaBar Announces Debut Solo Album, ‘One For the Road’

Following the lead of frontman Tom Keifer, Cinderella guitarist Jeff LaBar will release his debut solo album, ‘One For the Road,’ in late August via Rat Pak Records. The new effort will show LaBar stepping forward as a lead vocalist, while embracing a variety of musical frontiers ranging from familiar hard rock territory, to blues-accented rock, to “waltz/shuffle” and even heavy metal. Cinderella’s Tom Keifer Joins Halestorm to Perform “Here’s to Us” Live in Minnesota

Attendees during yesterday’s (July 5) Taste of Minnesota music festival were surprised when Cinderella frontman Tom Keifer joined headlining act Halestorm to perform the band’s hit single “This is Us,” in a performance which held some strong similarities to that of the duet rendition of “Love Hurts” between Keifer and Joanna Dean during the 1990 Farm Aid benefit concert.
